Ayesha: Warned by God for Jealousy and Attitude.

In every afternoon after the prayer (Aa'sor), Prophet Muhammad went to visit his wives. for their needs and to spend some times with them. On this regular visit, he kept spending times a little more to his newly married wife Zoynab. From the girlhood, Zoynab specially likes the Prophet Muhammad and she knew that he loves to drink honey. Before her marriage to the Prophet, she regularly supplied honey to him. And after the marriage, whenever Prophet Muhammad entered into her hujra during his regular visit, she always made a drink of honey for him. For this Prophet Muhammad had to spend a little more time with her. Noticing this, Bibi Ayesha, the only virgin among the wives, was envied. She discussed this matter with Bibi Hafsha, another wife of the prophet. And after consultation they made a plan, that on his return from Zoynab’s hujra, when will he comes to visit any of them first, she would say to him, ‘I smell the odour of the Magphir. Did you take a drink of that?’- Magphir is a particular tree that produce foul-smelling gum.

Then when Prophet Muhammad came out from the Zoynabs hujra (Hujra is nothing but a room with a verandha and a small courtyard. Hujra builded surrounds al-Masjid an-NabawÄ« for each of the wives of Prophet Muhammad. Each Hujra builded with the branch of date tree and a black thick cover made of fur hanged from its door. It was nearly 10ft from the door to the roofed room. The room was nearly 10ftx15ft in area and height 10-12ft. During the reign of Abdul Malek, those Hujra were demolished and included with the Mosque.) and entered another that was of Ayesha, she told him what she planned before. Then, prophet Muhammad said to her, ‘No, I just take a drink of honey.’
She said, ‘Perhaps some of the bees sits on a Magphir and may be collected juice from that tree that causes the honey of its bad smell.’

Prophet Muhammad always carefully avoided things that was bad smelly. It was because Gabriel often visits him, who avoids odour. So to happy and smiley this wife, Prophet Muhammad promised her not to take honey ever. But, when it came to his mind that Joynab may unhappy to hear that he takes an oath, he requested Ayesha to keep that secret, not to disclose regarding his oath to any of his wives. But women can't hide words in their stomach. Bibi Ayesha disclosed that to Bibi Hafsha.

Prophet Muhammad came to know through Gabriel that the secrets were flashed. Then, he thought to brought a complaint against Ayesha, but thinking somewhat, he didn’t place to her full of matter. On the other hand, receiving a complaint against her, she asked, ‘Who told you this?’
The Prophet said, ‘I was informed by the Knowing, the Acquainted.’ Then the prophet went in a silent, When on the other hand, Bibi Ayesha thought to herself that if the prophet divorced her with that offense, perhaps he may will not have another wife like her.

Actually Prophet Muhammad thought to divource Ayesha, but Gabriel resist him to do that as she was pious, and flooded with the grace of God, and her name already been written in the list of his wives in the Paradise.

In the above context, the following verses of Qur’an reveled, where God, the Most High describes the event, Warns Ayesha and answers to her attitudes-

O Prophet, why do you prohibit (yourself from) what Allah has made lawful for you, seeking the approval of your wives? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. Allah has already ordained for you the dissolution of your oaths. And Allah is your protector, and He is the Knowing, the Wise.

And (remember) when the Prophet confided to one of his wives a statement; and when she informed (another) of it and Allah showed it to him, he made known part of it and ignored a part. And when he informed her about it, she said, "Who told you this?"
He said, "I was informed by the Knowing, the Acquainted."

If you two (wives) repent to Allah, (it is best), for your hearts have deviated. But if you cooperate against him- then indeed Allah is his protector, and Gabriel and the righteous of the believers and the angels, moreover, are (his) assistants. Perhaps his Lord, if he divorced you (all), would substitute for him wives better than you- submitting (to Allah), believing, devoutly obedient, repentant, worshipping, and traveling- (ones) previously married and virgins.(66:1-5)

Due to these verses, Muhammad breaks his oath. And as dissolution of his oaths (Kapphara), he released a slave.

The End.
